Closing remarks

The BaSIC 2015 conference has been successfully organized with more than 200 participants from five countries, various scientific disciplines, and diverse institutions. It received critical acclaims from the audiences. The plenary lecture provided fundamental and up-to-date knowledge on an extensive area of science with the audience's seats are largely occupied for two days. The contributed talk in parallel session facilitated the dissemination of research activities done by scientists from various disciplines that may open a collaborative idea. It was also satisfying to have the conference flow successfully adhered with the time schedule.

The poster session was a new mark with active discussion for more than an hour between a large number of audiences and presenters. In Indonesia, poster presentation is often treated with little care and misleading interpretation; and thus creating an incorrect perception about its importance. Here the conference has shown that the poster session is definitely worth for every effort and attention. It is filled with enthusiasm and energetic discussion among young and senior scientists. This would not be possible without the patience of poster presenters who stand next to their poster for an hour, and also for the audience who eagerly ignited the discussion with poster presenters. We would like to congratulate the following presenters for their achievement in poster session and winning the dean poster award:

Program

SCIENTIFIC PROGRAM

The conference will host three main activities:

1. Plenary lectures
Plenary lectures will be given by distinguished scientists that stand as the frontier in their research field.

2. Invited lectures and contributed talk (oral presentation)
This session will be organized in parallel based on the fields of study.

3. Poster presentation
The conference values poster presentation with the same importance as oral presentation. Poster presentation provides better chance for discussion among scientists, and also facilitates young scientists to meet and discuss with the leading scientists. A dedicated time slot will be allocated for poster presentation. There will be no invited or contributed talk activities during that time slot, thus all participants are encouraged to come to poster session. Poster presenters are requested to stand next to their poster during the session. Poster award will be bestowed to several outstanding poster presenters. The criteria for the award is listed in poster instruction page.

In order to enjoy the benefit of early-bird registration fee, we encourage participants to submit their abstract as soon as possible.

The upcoming conference theme is "Advancing to the frontier of innovation in science". The scope of this conference is fundamental and applied research in chemistry, biology, physics, and mathematics. The scope is also extended to frontier research in science education.


ABSTRACT PREPARATION

The conference is using extended-abstract to review contributed presentation. This extended-abstract concisely contains introduction, research method, important results with discussion, and reference, in one page. Figure and table are encouraged in the abstract. The extended-abstract allows reviewer and audiences to recognize the importance of your work better. The submitted extended-abstract will not be made available online and only to be printed on abstract book.

PUBLICATION

Qualified full paper will be published on conference proceeding. Note that the publication on conference proceeding is an optional process.

The committee is collaborating with the editors of the four journals below, in a way that the editors may review the extended abstract submitted by participant and may then directly invite the participant to submit their high quality paper to be published on one of these journals (terms and conditions apply):

ON-SITE REGISTRATION
On-site registration is not available for participant who wish to contribute in oral or poster presentation. On-site registration is, however, opened for non-presenter attendance with flat registration fee of US$ 200 for non-Indonesian passport holder, and Rp 1,000,000 for Indonesian passport holder.
